Eight years ago we got married at the most DIY'd wedding possible.. inspired by what you can do with a little sweat equity, we created a blog series to continue our love of DIYs called Monday Crafternoons. Since then we've bought and renovated a huge fixer upper and have taken on countless projects. You can follow along on our Instagram!
Our Neighborhood
Weekend walks to Up All Night bakery, biking to school, neighbors popping into our backyard when they hear us outside, porchella, walking to the farmers market. The reasons we love our cute little neighborhood are absolutely endless.
our chickens
We moved to the city and got baby chicks. Totally normal, right? Eh.. normal is overrated. Lovingly named after planets for our space loving boys, our little chicks aren't so little anymore. We are definitely not pros, but we are masters at figuring things out as we go. Raising chickens has been no exception.
duck, obx
Laura's parents have a house in Duck, and it's been the most wonderful thing ever. We head to the Outer Banks in the off season and have the beach to ourselves.. and take all the long walks.. and eat all the Duck Donuts.. and it's amazing.
Juja, Kenya
Michael grew up in Kenya. After we were married, we took a year off and moved to a beautiful town in Kenya just north of Nairobi. Laura taught this group of seven at a remote school in Juja. We also worked with the children's home to create a new website and update all the kid's adoption profile photos. Read more about our time in Kenya.
It's important to us that you feel like you know us, and that you like us if you're going to book us. Yes, we want you to like our work, but did you know that you spend more time with your photographer on your wedding day than almost anyone else!?
Seriously.
Between the wedding day, your engagement session, and all the emails/coffee dates in between, we want you to actually enjoy spending time with us.. because it's going to end up being a lot of time.

We actually both went to Japan separately.. and went to Ireland and Belgium on our honeymoon. Eventually we'll make it to Iceland!
